Kristen Seballos Breaks 24-Year School Carnegie Mellon Record iat Bison Open

Graduate student Kristen Seballos and senior Kavya Tummalapalli of the Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team compete at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic over the weekend.

Results:

  • Seballos broke the school record in the 3,000-meter when she crossed the finish line with a time of 10:02.75 and placed second overall in a field of 67 runners and was the top Division III runner to cross. She broke Margaret Powers record of 10:06.81 which was set in 1999.
  • On Saturday, Seballos won the 1,500-meter race in a field of 96 runners. She crossed with a personal-best time of 4:38.97.
  • Tummalapalli crossed in a personal-best time of 2:17.13 in the 800-meter run.
