University of Chicago's Laura Darcey was voted as the NCAA Division III National Women's Field Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday.

During the 2020 indoor season, Darcey submitted historic performances across a variety of events. The senior tallied the top pentathlon score in the nation with 3,794 points – the fourth-best score in NCAA Division III history. That performance smashed the school record and the facility record at Henry Crown Field House.

Darcey was one of the top jumpers in Division III as well. Her school-record high jump of 1.74 meters ranked third nationally during the season. She also posted the No. 7 mark in the long jump at 5.77 meters.

Additionally, the senior ranked in the nation's top 30 in both the 60-meter dash (7.75) and 60-meter hurdles (8.99).

Over her career, Darcey has earned All-American status four times.
