Juliette Intrieri Leads Brandeis at Connecticut College Invitational

The Brandeis University cross country teams ran in their final tune-up for championship season today at the Connecticut College Invitational.

The White race saw Brandeis finishing in 14th place in the team standings with 382 points.

For the first time this season, junior Juliette Intrieri (North Salem, N.Y./North Salem) was the team's top runner. She placed 39th with a time of 22:48.0 over six kilometers. Running that distance for the first time this season, Intrieri lowered her overall p.r. by 15 seconds for 6K, breaking 23 minutes for the first time.

Senior Bridget Pickard (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) ran second for the team, coming in 83rd in 83rd with a time of 23:24.7, 24 seconds faster than her previous best.

The next three Judges were all right behind Pickard, starting with junior Lizzy Reynolds (Winchester, Mass. / Winchester) in 88th place with a time of 23:29.20; first-year Katriona Briggs (Menlo Park, Calif. / Menlo-Atherton) in 88th in 23:33.2; and sophomore Zada Forde (Leverett, Mass. / Amherst Regional) in 100th place in 23:35.6. All three set collegiate-bests for 6K as well.
