Bears' 800 Freestyle Relay Finishes Second at NCAA Championships

The Washington University in St. Louis swimming and diving teams had a strong day three at the NCAA Division III Championships on Friday, held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
 
The Bears 800 freestyle relay team of Mason KelberPace EdwardsDanny Sibley and Mark Lipkin finished second with a time of 6:30.34.
 
Junior Alexander McCormick took seventh in the 100 backstroke with a time of 47.61, setting a new program record and picking up his second top-eight finish of the weekend.
 
First-year Matthew Walker finished eighth in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:48.22, earning the first All-America honor of his career.
 
On the women's side, first-year Rin Iimi finished 15th in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:05.68, earning a second-team All-America honor.
 
WashU's 800 freestyle relay team of Iimi, Ali RocheLauren Antonowich and Isabella Barrientos finished 13th with a time of 7:35.05.
 
The men sit in seventh place with 139 points following day three while the women are in 26th with 13 points.
