Lexi Miskey, Amanda Riely of CWRU Named NFCA All-Americans

From Case Western Reserve University Athletics

Case Western Reserve University sophomore pitcher Lexi Miskey and senior infielder Amanda Riely were each named to National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America teams, as announced by the organization on Wednesday night. Miskey earned Second Team honors as a pitcher, and Riely was named to the Third Team as a second baseman.

Miskey and Riely become the fourth and fifth All-Americans in program history and the first since former Spartan Sarah Miller earned First Team honors in 2021. Previous All-Americans include Annie Wennerberg (First Team, 2015) and Lauren Wolz (Third Team, 2011). This is the first time two CWRU players have been named All-Americans in the same season.

Miskey, the University Athletic Association Pitcher of the Year for the second consecutive season, set single-season program records for wins (23), strikeouts (207), and strikeouts per seven innings (9.64). She became the first pitcher in program history to strike out 200 batters in a single season, and she finished the season with a record of 23-3 and a 1.58 earned run average. She earned her second career All-Region honor earlier this season with a First Team selection.

Riely, the UAA Position Player of the Year, led the team with a .418 batting average and .447 on-base percentage in her final season as a Spartan. She drove in a team-high 35 runs and scored 32 teams, adding three home runs, 11 doubles, and two triples. Riely collected a hit in 31 of the team's 43 games and started at second base for CWRU in every single contest. For her career, she had a .337 batting average with six home runs and 58 runs batted in. She earned her first career All-Region and All-UAA honors earlier this season with First Team selections.

This is the first career All-America honor for both players. They became the 13th and 14th All-Americans across any sport for Case Western Reserve during the 2022-23 academic year, tying the department record set during the 2001-02 seasons.

The Spartan softball team, which received the highest ranking in program history from the NFCA, finished the season with a record of 38-5. The Spartans tied a program record with their 38 wins and set a school record with 20 consecutive victories earlier in the season. Case Western Reserve won the UAA and earned selection to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in program history.
