New York University's Natalie Bruns and Jenny Walker have been named to the College Sports Communicators Women's Basketball Division III Academic All-America® team in recognition of both their academic and athletic achievements.

Walker was named to the Second Team and Bruns to the Third Team as two of four University Athletic Association (UAA) student-athletes honored.

Walker, a Media, Culture, and Communication major in NYU's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, is one of eight recipients to maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA and averaged 12.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.1 blocks, 0.9 assists and 0.8 steals per game in 2022-23.

The senior forward was also a Second Team All-UAA selection and UAA All-Academic honoree this year. Walker scored in double figures 16 times on the season, highlighted by a career-high 34 points with 10 rebounds, two blocks and two steals in a home win over Emory University on January 20. She ranked sixth in the Association in blocks per game, seventh in field-goal percentage (49.1), ninth in rebounding and 10th in scoring.

Bruns, a Business & Technology Management major in NYU's Tandon School of Engineering, adds Academic All-America honors to her UAA Player of the Year, First Team All-UAA, D3hoops.com Region 4 Most Outstanding Player, D3hoops.com Region 4 First Team and UAA All-Academic accolades this year.

The junior forward maintained a 3.97 GPA while putting together a historic individual season for the Violets, averaging 15.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 2.9 blocks and 1.8 steals per game. Bruns set the program's single-season record with 80 blocks, also posting a single-game program record 10 blocks as part of a triple-double against Carnegie Mellon University on January 27.

Bruns led the UAA in blocks while ranking eighth in the nation, finished second in the league in double-doubles (10), second in rebounding, third in field-goal percentage (50.4) and eighth in scoring.

Walker and Bruns helped lead NYU to its second straight outright UAA title, third straight 20-win season and second consecutive Elite Eight appearance this year, all while excelling in the classroom.
