The New York University fencing team wrapped up competition at the NCAA Championships with a 17th-place finish. The four-day event took place from Thursday-Sunday, March 20-23 at Cleveland State University's Wolstein Center in Cleveland, OH.

Sophomore Tiffany Luong was the lone Violet in action on Sunday and won two more matches to finish in 22nd place in the foil competition.

Three NYU men's fencers participated on Thursday and Friday and helped NYU, one of two Division III squads at the event, to 14th place at the midway point.

The four NYU fencers combined for a total 30 points to finish in 17th. Columbia University/Barnard College tallied 178 points to edge out Penn State University (166 points) and the University of Notre Dame (165 points) for the National Championship.

Overall, 26 teams competed, with all but two representing NCAA Division I institutions.
