UChicago Takes Title at Two-Day Midwest Invitational

With the NCAA national meet on the horizon, the University of Chicago swimming and diving teams hosted the two-day Midwest Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

The Maroon women took first of five teams (622 points).

UChicago tallied 10 event victories. First-year Yunfan Dong put up an NCAA qualifying time of 2:02.01 in the women's 200-yard backstroke. Sophomore Alice Ye did the same in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:03.23. Ye also picked up a win in the 400-yard IM (4:29.88). Junior Taylor Hammill was a multiple winner in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.41) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:02.38).
