The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Region Championships concluded with the University of Chicago women's tennis team capturing the singles and doubles titles on Monday and Tuesday.

In last weekend's action down in St. Louis, the Maroons turned in dominating performances and set up all-UChicago finals in both singles and doubles. UChicago then opted to play the finals on its home courts in Hyde Park.

On Monday, it was a matchup between the last two ITA regional doubles champions when sophomore Sylwia Mikos and Shianna Guo (2021 champs) took on seniors Claudia Ng and Perene Wang (2019 champs). Mikos and Guo defended their title by securing a 6-2, 6-3 victory.

Tuesday's action featured a rematch of last year's ITA Central Region singles final as sophomores Mikos and Miranda Yuan duked it out. Mikos came away the victor by scores of 6-2, 6-1.

The doubles tandems of Mikos/Guo and Ng/Wang, as well as Mikos and Yuan in singles qualified automatically for the upcoming ITA Cup, which will feature the champions and finalists from each of the ITA regionals.
