Abby Ausmus of of UAA Champion NYU Named Most Valuable Player as UAA Announces All-Association Volleyball Team

Senior middle blocker Abby Ausmus of Association champion NYU was selected as Most Valuable Player as the 2021 UAA All-Association Volleyball Team was announced. She hit .412 for the season, averaging 1.97 kills per set, including .389 with 2.07 kills per set in Association round robin play. Ausmus hit .429 with 11 kills and just one error, adding six blocks, and five digs in the Violets' UAA championship final victory over two-time defending champion Emory University.

With no UAA play in 2019-20, the Association named two Rookie of the Year honorees. NYU libero Lindsey Hirano was chosen as the UAA First Year Rookie of the Year. Sophomore middle blocker Jennifer Ngo of Case Western Reserve University was selected UAA Sophomore Rookie of the Year.

Head Coach Andrew Brown and assistants Rachel Bello and Amanda Colombo shared the Coaching Staff of the Year honors for leading NYU to its first Association volleyball title. Head Coach Mitchell McPartland and assistant coach Thom Guzi of University of Chicago also shared Coaching Staff of the Year accolades for leading the Maroons to a third-place finish and an atlarge bid to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship.
